This dress was a good buy! While not completely historically accurate, it is a great costume. sash and bows are a black cotton material. The red over-dress is actually a fairly heavy satin like material. The corseted back helps to adjust the fit. I wore a crinoline petticoat, but a hoop skirt would probably be even better. Overall this dress was actually a good purchase for the quality of the costume.
